Microsoft Online Office 365 and Domain Change

What to expect after the move to Office 365 for education and how it will work:

The university has been using two mail servers. In-house (AKA MDaemon or World Client) and a cloud based solution - Microsoft Office 365 (in short MSO 365). In addition the university main domain is changing from ajula.edu to aju.edu

In general all mail boxes that were serviced by our in-house mail server are being moved to MSO 365.

We will send you another notification when you will have to stop using @aju.edu or @mail.ajula.edu.

If you are: Current student who already have MSO 365 account  

  • You will not experience much of a change.
  • Keep using http://www.outlook.com/aju.edu to access your email.
  • webmail.ajula.edu or webmail.aju.edu will be redirected to the above link.
  • After we finish the domain change, you will have only one email – username@aju.edu.
  • Password: Your password will be the one you have used for webmail.ajula.edu. To manage your password
  • We will notify you when you should stop using username@mail.ajula.edu
  • After we finish the domain change, you will have only one email – username@aju.edu

If you are: Current student who only have @aju.edu account but does not have MSO 365 account  

  • We will create a new account for you in MSO 365.
  • If you are forwarding your email to a private email such as gmail, nothing will change. Your AJU email will keep forwarding to the same private email.
  • If you are not forwarding and using webmail.ajula.edu or webmail.aju.edu to access your email, please note the new web address http://www.outlook.com/aju.edu.
  • If you get your AJU email by using pop3.ajula.edu from any mail client such as outlook on your desktop or yahoo.com, get direction here or please contact us.
  • Password: Your password for the new MSO 365 account will be the one you have used for webmail.ajula.edu. To manage your password
  • We will notify you when you should stop using username@mail.ajula.edu
  • After we finish the domain change, you will have only one email – username@aju.edu

If you are: Staff who already have MSO 365 account  

  • You will not experience much of a change.
  • Keep using http://www.outlook.com/aju.edu to access your email from the web or outlook installed on your AJU desktop computer.
  • Password:
    • If you log into the AJU network for running applications or saving files on H:, G: drives (login into your computer at AJU), your email password will change to the one you are using to log into your AJU computer. To manage your password
    • If you don't have access to AJU network and have no login user name, your password for the MSO 365 account will be the one you have used for webmail.ajula.edu. To manage your password
  • We will notify you when you should stop using username@mail.ajula.edu
  • After we finish the domain change, you will have only one email – username@aju.edu

If you are: Staff who only have @aju.edu account but does not have MSO 365 account  

  • We will create a new account for you in MSO 365.
  • We will make changes to your outlook on your AJU computer and move your emails to MSO 365.
    During this period your mail box might be down. We will notify you when the process starts.
    If you saved emails in folders which were not sub-folders of the Inbox folder please contact us via email or call us at ext. 381.
  • To access your email from the web, please note the new web address http://www.outlook.com/aju.edu.
  • Password:
    • If you log into the AJU network for running applications or saving files on H:, G: drives (login into your computer at AJU), your email password will change to the one you are using to log into your AJU computer.
    • If you don't have a access to AJU network your email password will not initialy change.

  • After we finish the domain change, you will have only one email – username@aju.edu

If you are: Alumnus of the university

  • If you have recently graduated and have an MSO 365 account, you will not experience much of change. Your password and forwarding will be the same.
    If you prefer not to keep your aju.edu account any more:
    • Please notify us by sending email to domainchange@aju.edu.
    • If you would like to receive newsletters and announcements from AJU, please let us know what email to use when sending newsletter. You can also opt to receive some and all newsletters. See list of available newsletter at the end of this section.
  • If you are using your ajula.edu and now aju.edu email account and would like to keep it:
    Your email box will be moved to MSO 365. It is free for you to use. The only difference is that when viewing your account online the web page can show advertisement like any Google or Yahoo email accounts.
    • If you are forwarding your email from aju.edu to your personal one – nothing will change.
    • If you are using the web to view / send email, from now on use www.outlook.com/aju.edu
    • Your initial password is the same.
    • If you need to reset your password, call us at ext. 381.
  • If you prefer not to keep your aju.edu account any more:
    • Please notify us by sending email to domainchange@aju.edu.
    • If you would like to receive newsletters and announcements from AJU, please let us know what email to use when sending newsletter. You can also opt to receive some and all newsletters.

Password management
Password management will now be part of the university Active Directory (Central database of all users, computers, emails and security policies of the institution – In short AD)
We are implementing a self-service password reset / change / reclaim for our current students and staff.
Our Alumni please call us at ext. 381 to reset your password.

How to reset / change or reclaim your password using the self-service solution?
If you are an alumnus of the university – please call us at ext. 381.

To manage your password goto http://pw1.aju.edu:85/

If you are staff or current students you will need to first enroll to our self-service password reset application. To enroll you will need your user name (the first part of your email before the @) and your password. You will be asked to choose security questions and answer them.

Click on "Domain User Login" and enter your current password.

Choose security questions and add your private email so you will be able to get a notifiction with a code if you have forgotten you password.
